The Life and Legacy of
Mrs. Edith B. Crowley
As beautiful as a rose to see, was her life she lived so gracefully. She made things precious by her touch; her selfless love lives on in each of us.
Edith Bessie Crowley was born on August 26, 1936 in Lake Providence, Louisiana to her parents Shiloh Taylor and Fannie Mae Burnham. Edith was second born to her parents, she had four brothers William, Cornelius, Shiloh, and R.T, and four sisters Celestine, Salome, Shirley, and Pat.
As a child Edith love watching her younger siblings and perfecting the art of picking cotton. Edith was educated in the public school system in Lake Providence, and went to G.W. Griffin High school in 1956. After high school Edith went on to earn her degree in nursing until she retired.
While in Colorado she met and fall in love with Doyle Crowley and on March 27, 1960 they were married. To this union four boys was born Eugene, SyLawrence, Emmanuel, and Delwin. As a family they would often make that trip to Louisiana and Mississippi yearly to see family sometimes twice a year.
Edith Accepted Christ at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church in Louisiana, and when she moved to Denver, she joined New Hope Baptist Church. She then joined Campbell’s Memorial Church of God In Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop Lee Augustus Jordan, and her last Pastor of Campbell’s Elder. L.J. Liggins.
Mother Crowley enjoyed caring for the elderly, often times giving them rides to church, and taking them to the grocery store amongst many other places.
Mother Crowley is preceded in death her Loving Husband Doyle Crowley, son Delwin, Sr. her parents Shiloh, and Fannie Mae Taylor. Three brothers William, Cornelius, and Shiloh, two sisters Celestine, and Patricia, one grandson Jamarcust Mister, one great-grandson Jair Semaj.
Mother Crowley leaves to cherish her memory her three sons, Eugene Crowley, SyLawrence (Cecilia) Crowley, and Emmanuel Crowley, 11 grandchildren, James Alexander, Fatima Alexander, Maurice Crowley, Tanesha McKeever, Shiloh Crowley, Delwin Crowley II, Quintana Crowley , Tameka McKeever, DeAdjrain Anderson, Albernae Anderson, Devon Crowley, Terrell Terleaven, Lavonte Anderson, Christine Anderson, Great grandchildren, Mary Alexander, Inez Crowley, Bladen Kent, Dreyaeh Anderson, Nevaeh Anderson, Deadjrain Anderson Il; daugther in Law, Christi Crowley; one brother R.T. (Linda) Taylor, two sisters Salome Taylor of Brooklyn, NY, and Shirley Taylor of Norfolk, VA. , sister in laws Carla Crowley, Louvenia Crowley, Beshera Crowley, Faye Reese, Dilcy Seward, and Naomi Ward. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
